Gregg Dektor, CPA, MST joined Louis Plung & Company as Tax Director in June 2023. With over 33 years of tax experience, including 30 in the Big 4, he most recently served as the State and Local Tax (“SALT”) leader of another CPA firm’s Pittsburgh operations.

Though driven by results, Gregg finds his true side when he is interacting and engaging with clients directly. Keeping his team connected and clients informed on the status of their work is a critical addition to his deep knowledge of tax and accounting.
He is project focused, working in both National SALT and Research & Development (R&D) service lines for more than 20 years. His expertise includes identifying and managing tax savings strategies with a heavy focus on SALT, mergers and acquisitions, recurring reporting and compliance, and managing SALT due diligence including remediation.
An additional area of strength for Gregg is working with corporations and partnerships under the Internal Revenue Code. His deep understanding of Federal tax law has leveraged his SALT expertise.
Most recently, he has managed large complex entity structures including several private equity clients in industries including real estate, professional services, energy and transportation.
