Description of Practice

Since 2010, DJ has been a valuable member of the Louis Plung & Company team. As a partner in the firm’s Tax Department, he works primarily on closely held entities and on tax and succession planning for their owners. He specializes in serving private equity, service industry, and high net worth clients. A professional in the accounting field since 1985, DJ’s experience includes over 30 years in public accounting, including a Big Four firm, and five years as the CFO of a media company.

A personable professional, DJ strives to position himself as a trusted advisor to his clients. His goal is to make each of his clients feel as if they are his only client. He was inspired to pursue a career in accounting by his professors at St. Francis, and he attributes his success in the field to a combination of hard work and great mentors.

Raised outside of Pittsburgh in Dormont, Pennsylvania, DJ currently lives in Mt. Lebanon with Kelly, his wife of 25 years. They have two sons, Matthew and Sean. DJ enjoys living in Mt. Lebanon because it is near to where he grew up—he drives by his childhood home every night when he leaves the office. He is happy that he didn’t have to leave the Pittsburgh area to find a career doing something that he enjoys. In his free time, DJ likes playing golf and following Pittsburgh and Dayton athletics.
