Louis Plung & Company Announces New Promotions
The Pittsburgh accounting and consulting firm Louis Plung & Company (LPC) is pleased to announce the promotions of Scott Blatchford, CPA, EA, Tom Vidt, Amber Hartz, Ryan Coles, Duke Griffith, Miranda Safran, and Jonathon Luken.
Blatchford, Vidt, Hartz, and Coles all work in the firm’s Tax Department. With these promotions, Blatchford moves from Tax Manager to Senior Tax Manager; previously a Supervising Senior, Vidt steps into the position of Tax Manager; Hartz and Coles both take on the responsibilities of Tax Senior I.
Within the Audit Department, Griffith, and Safran all take on new roles as well. Griffith moves from Senior II to Audit Supervising Senior, and Safran has been promoted from Audit Staff to Audit Senior,
In firm operations, Luken moves from Network & Server Manager to Director of IT.

In 2018, Blatchford joined the LPC team, bringing with him 17 years of valuable experience. He works with clients in the small business, farming, real estate, and automotive sectors. A 2001 graduate of Youngstown State University, Blatchford holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He is currently affiliated with the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA), the Youngstown State University Alumni Association, and the Medical Cannabis Society. Raised in Ohio, Blatchford now resides in Robinson Township.
Vidt joined LPC in 2017, bringing with him three and a half years of experience. He works primarily with high-net-worth individuals and small business owners. Vidt attended Robert Morris University, graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Accounting. He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, but has spent most of his life living in Pittsburgh.
A professional in the accounting field since 2013, Hartz joined the LPC team in 2021. She is known for having a broad range of tax experience; she is primarily responsible for preparing individual returns at the federal, state, and local levels. In 2013, Hartz graduated cum laude from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. Raised in West Deer, Pennsylvania, Hartz currently resides in Gibsonia with her husband, Jonathan, and their two daughters.
Coles joined LPC in 2019 and has devoted the entirety of his professional career to serving the firm. He works primarily with individuals, corporations, and nonprofit organizations, performing tax preparation. Coles attended Penn State Behrend, graduating in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. While in school he served as president of the PSB Accounting Club. He remains affiliated with his alma mater via the Penn State Alumni Association. Coles currently lives in Monroeville.
In 2016, Griffith joined LPC as an intern; he went on to join the team fulltime after graduating. Griffith primarily works with clients in the manufacturing, agricultural, real estate, and nonprofit sectors. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University, Griffith holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an Accounting option. He is a member of Pittsburgh Young Professionals. Griffith lives in Cranberry Township, which is where he grew up.
Safran established her professional career when she joined the LPC team in 2020. She currently works with clients in the manufacturing, agricultural, real estate, and nonprofit industries; she also performs audits of employee benefit plans. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Safran holds a degree in Management Accounting. She is currently affiliated with the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA). She resides in North Versailles, her hometown.
Luken has worked in the IT field since 2005. He joined the LPC team in 2011 and currently administers all systems and manages all system assets. He received his IT training while a member of the U.S. army. Raised in Celina, Ohio, he currently resides in Pittsburgh.
