EXPERIENCE
Louis Plung is the Managing Partner of Louis Plung & Company, LLP. He joined the Firm in 1984, became partner in
1989 and was made Managing Partner in 1992.
Lou provides services for clients in a wide-range of industries, from closely-held businesses to large public-owned companies. For over 20 years, he has specialized in helping entrepreneurial companies grow and add value to their organizations. In addition to providing financial and business consulting services, Lou has developed a reputation for his expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and estate planning.
Lou, over his twenty five year career has worked closely with clients in the real estate, distribution, architectural and manufacturing industries. He has assisted clients in turn around and workout situations.
Lou sits on clients’ audit committees and as such is very knowledgeable of the key risk issues facing clients. He is also a member of numerous other client committees (pension, liability, legal, compliance; etc.) which enables him to provide “big picture” perspective to his clients. He has a background in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and has consulted with clients in both SOX implementation and continuing SOX compliance.
Lou is very active in Community charitable activities. He currently is a Vice-Chairman of the United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh (UJF). In this current capacity he has overseen the Finance, Internal Control, Accounting and Auditing Functions at UJF. He has previously served as the Chair of both the Planning and the Distributions Committees for the United Jewish Federation of Pittsburgh (UJF). Louis also currently is on the Boards of Riverview Towers (a low income HUD housing project) and Jewish Family and Children Services of Pittsburgh (a multi-faceted social service agency). He is also currently on the Boards of the Community Day School and the Jewish HealthCare Foundation.
At a national level, Lou also currently serves and will be completing his term as the National Treasurer of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Previously, he had served as a Board member at both the local and National levels for CCFA and had been the President and Chairman of the Pittsburgh chapter.
Lou and his wife, Lori, live in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh with their two children, Danielle and Jesse.
