How We Work

The accounting industry has undergone significant changes over the years, and so the ways in which we respond to clients’ needs has also changed. Advances in technology mean that our tax and audit practices are now almost entirely paperless, which makes responding to client requests faster, easier, and more efficient. Clients can also access account information online via our Client Portal, minimizing the time they need to spend tracking down information. Remote work stations, real-time document sharing capabilities, and other upgrades to our office’s IT structure help us stay on the cutting edge of industry standards.

Tax Intern

Seasonal Schedule: February 1, 2015 through April 20, 2015 - Louis Plung & Company, LLP

About the Position:

Louis Plung & Company, LLP is seeking a qualified college intern to assist the Tax Department with various administrative and tax assignments to assist our Tax Department during busy season.

Expected responsibilities include the following:

  • Scanning client data into CCH ProSystem fx Scan software with Autoflow technology.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns by validating client data for accuracy after it has been scanned into CCH ProSystem fx Scan software.  
  • Prepare reports that will assist in determining if any client data is missing within the software.
  • Filing and copying duties as needed.
  • Other administrative tasks to assist the tax staff as needed.

Desired Skills and Background:

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to complete work on time and with limited supervision
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Word and Excel

Other Notes:

  • Hours of work are flexible within the general office hours of  8:30 am – 5 pm Mon-Fri; with some Saturday hours.
  • In terms of hours per week, that is negotiable based on the candidate’s availability, anticipate we would need a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Office dress code is business casual, except for Fridays when jeans are acceptable
  • Paid internship; hourly rate range $10.00 – $13.50.
