Description:
Downtown Public CPA Firm seeks Audit Manager with at least 7 recent years of audit experience in a public accounting firm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supervising engagements and special assignments
  • Coordinates various phases of engagements & plans engagements
  • Reviews working papers for accuracy and completeness and to ensure they are prepared in accordance with generally accepted professional and firm standards
  • Studies, evaluates, documents, and tests clients' internal controls
  • Directs the collection of information necessary to prepare audit and accounting clients' tax returns
  • Communicates effectively with clients, staff, audit managers, and partners - verbal and written communication
  • Develops and leads in house training on accounting and audit related matters
  • Practice development
  • Some responsibility for administrative functions, including billing, staff evaluations and staff training
  • Reports to Partners
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in accounting
  • At least 7 recent years in public accounting, demonstrating a proven progression in complexity, scope and number of audit engagements managed/supervised
  • Current and valid certified public accountant's license
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software; experience with paperless audit and tax software is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, and management abilities

Description:
Downtown Public CPA Firm seeks Senior Tax Accountant with 5 to 7 years of public accounting experience, demonstrating a proven progression in tax return complexity, scope and research.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare complex pass-through entity, corporate, individual, and trust & estate tax returns
  • Perform technical review of pass-through entity and corporate tax returns; individual and fiduciary tax returns; non-profit organization tax returns; etc.
  • Act as a resource for tax preparers and accounting & auditing staff on specific tax issues and/or tax questions
  • Conduct tax research in order to draft well-written firm and client memos based on research results
  • Develop and lead in-house training sessions on tax related matters
  • Perform special projects as requested by the Tax Partner(s) and or Manager(s)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's degree in Taxation is a plus
  • Five to seven years in Public Accounting in tax preparation function; CPA preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of tax preparation (ProSystem fx® Tax), tax research, and tax projection software; Excel; Word
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and multi-state income and franchise taxation and the ability to communicate directly with clients
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn and expand one's technical tax and accounting expertise
  • Ability to work independently; is self-directed, results-oriented, and demonstrates initiative
